Presentation

Created through a partnership between retail chains and universities, this professional degree prepares students for the job of department manager. It focuses on three areas: sales, management and administration.

Department managers are responsible for the sales and marketing of their departments. Like the head of a mini-company, they manage the supply and sale of their products and promote them. They are also responsible for the department’s financial results.

The course is offered on a sandwich course basis and as part of a partnership between the university and supermarket chains. Each student/apprentice alternates periods of training at the IAE NANCY and periods in a retail company, which are all opportunities to put into practice what they have learned. In terms of pay, work-study students receive 80% of the minimum wage, which is negotiated at national level.

The diploma is being rolled out in partnership with the IAE NANCY, the Lorraine Region, the Apprentice Training Centre and the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as a large number of supermarket chains grouped together at national level within DistriSup Management. This association promotes the degree, which is offered by 17 universities in France.
