Accreditation of Professional and Personal Experience & Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning

Accreditation of Professional and Personal Experience

Would you like to join one of our courses but don’t have the required diploma to apply?

Under certain conditions, you can make the most of your professional experience and other achievements by completing an Accreditation of Professional and Personal Experience application (Education Code: articles D.613-38 to D.613-50).

Accreditation of Professional and Personal Experience allows direct access to a university course without having the required diploma, by validating professional experience (whether salaried or not), training courses taken or personal achievements developed throughout one’s life.

The main aim of this application is to put the skills acquired into perspective in relation to those required for the course.

To qualify, you must :

  • Be at least 20 years old

  • Have interrupted their studies for at least 2 years

  • Have significant experience (professional, associative, etc.) that is relevant to the course you wish to follow

How to do it ?

Download the Accreditation of Professional and Personal Experience file here:

You can fill it in directly and attach all the necessary supporting documents.

It must be submitted with the other documents in the application. It will be examined by the course coordinator at the same time as the other application documents.

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning

Would you like to gain a diploma while making the most of your professional experience?

This scheme makes it possible to obtain all or part of a qualification (diploma, vocational qualification or vocational qualification certificate) on the basis of professional experience in an employed or self-employed capacity (trader, trader’s assistant, self-employed person, farmer or craftsman, etc.) and/or on a voluntary basis (trade union, voluntary organisation) and/or as a volunteer.

This experience, which is relevant to the qualification in question, is validated by a jury.

These qualifications, which are registered with the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (RNCP), can be obtained through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning.

Who can apply for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning?

Anyone with 1 year’s work experience directly related to the content of the diploma in question, regardless of age, nationality, status or diploma, can apply for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning.

As a result of the current Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning reform, this information is subject to change, particularly with regard to the length of experience required. For further information on this subject, please consult: Title I: Purpose of the validation of acquired experience and legal regime (Articles L6411-1 to L6412-3) – Légifrance (legifrance.gouv.fr)
