The aim of the “Consulting and Research Professions” Master’s in Management is to develop students’ ability to carry out research or provide study and consulting services by mastering scientific knowledge and methods.
It is closely linked to the specialised Masters (HRM, Finance, Marketing and Sales, etc.) and enables the students of each of these Masters to prepare for careers as researchers, researchers, consultants or high-level executives in the research departments of government departments, large companies, financial institutions, etc., and thus to acquire (depending on the teaching units chosen) a second Master’s degree, complementing the specialised Master’s degree.
TRAINING IN AND THROUGH RESEARCH
With this in mind, students admitted to the “Consulting and Research Professions” Master’s in Management will be confronted with concrete, theoretical and applied research, through the analysis of work and the writing of research reports in seminars, and the completion of a dissertation in their chosen speciality. In some cases, they can take part in work carried out within the laboratory (CEREFIGE), a host team for management sciences with substantial resources at their disposal: documentary bases, databases, software, etc.
Objectives
The Master’s in Management “Consulting and Research Professions” provides training in consulting and research in management sciences. It complements the specialised Masters (HRM, Finance, Marketing and Sales, etc.) and enables the students of each of these Masters to prepare for careers as researchers, researchers, consultants or high-level executives in research departments and government departments, large companies, financial institutions, etc. The career opportunities are therefore very diverse. Validation of your Master 1 in Management “Consulting and Research Professions” gives you access to the Master 2 in Management “Consulting and Research Professions”.
The research training modules and seminars in M2 are supplemented by specialised courses from the Finance, HRM, Marketing and other Masters courses. The programme enables students to acquire a double Master’s degree by offering Teaching Units (TUs) from the Master’s courses in the following fields (HRM, finance, marketing and sales, public management, CCA, entrepreneurship, etc.).
Students are required to complete their dissertation during an internship in a laboratory or company. The placement may be in a university, public or private research laboratory, or in the research departments of companies in France or abroad. The dissertation supervisor monitors the placement. The internship lasts a minimum of 10 weeks and is assessed indirectly through the dissertation and its oral presentation.
One of the Master’s lecturers monitors and supervises this research work. It is defended in front of at least two members of the teaching staff and possibly a professional.

Application
Conditions of admission
The Master 1 is open to all students with a Bachelor’s degree, including those from disciplines that may seem far removed from management sciences (humanities, arts, life and earth sciences, engineering sciences, etc.).
Continuing education : Access based on application + interview for working professionals or those covered by the Validation of Professional and Personal Experience (VAPP – Education Code: articles D.613-38 to D.613-50) or the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE): by decision of the jury.
Access to the Master’s in Management “Consulting and Research Professions” is subject to a selection procedure aimed at verifying the knowledge required to pursue training in research and consulting in Management Sciences in the chosen speciality, motivation for research or consulting, and a sufficient level of French.
The application file will consist of an administrative file accompanied by a letter of motivation and a research project of no more than two pages.
Admission is decided by the Master’s programme managers on the basis of an examination of applications and, if necessary, an interview.

The Master 1 Management “Consulting and Research Professions” can be accessed as part of a Continuing Education programme, a Validation of Prior Learning (VAE) programme or a Validation of Professional and Personal Learning (VAPP) programme.
For European students undergoing initial training, registration fees for national diplomas are set annually by ministerial decree. In 2026, they will amount to :

There is also a Student and Campus Life Contribution of €105 in 2025/2026. This contribution must be paid by students not receiving a grant to cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr
